Giving Crew Day kicks off and celebrates the promise of the 2023-2024 school year. It was established to commemorate the joy and promise of the very first day Polaris opened its doors to students on September 4, 2007. On Giving Crew Day and throughout the month of September, we invite our Polaris family and friends, our supporters and donors—our Crew—to come together to participate in our community day of giving and make a gift to support our students’ learning and the transformative work we do.
This year’s Giving Crew Day will support our EXPLORE programs—Art, Athletics, and Music—that serve our Kindergarten through 8th-grade students every week. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to help provide new athletic equipment, art supplies, musical instruments, and other necessary resources to provide a vibrant and joyful learning environment that empowers students to achieve more than we think possible. At Polaris, Art, Athletics, and Music are fundamental to a well-rounded education and contribute to academic success, and they are essential to character development and building a culture of Crew. Art, Athletics, and Music bring joy and fun to learning and provide diverse ways for our students to be curious, creative and express themselves, to develop a positive sense of identity, to build confidence and a sense of belonging, and to learn resilience, patience, perseverance, problem-solving, team-building, and more.
