Exhibition Night at Polaris is a beautiful Celebration of Learning and powerful way our students make their learning public. This event is more than a display of students’ work and high-quality final products, students present to families and their peers what they learned, how they learned, questions they answered, and the research they conducted during their long-term learning expeditions. Students reflect on their strengths and struggles and share their “grows” and their “glows.” Students were leaders of their own learning and all parents were proud of their children’s learning journey.

Kindergarten Crews presented their research on plants, explained how to use plant parts to make food, and decorated pant pots with guests.

First Grade Crews presented their bird books and collages.

Second Grade Crews presented their research and technical drawings of pollinators and will plant wildflowers with guests.

Third Grade Crews shared what they’ve learned about chickens and caring for chickens.

Fourth Grade Crews presented the book they published that serves as a guide for children immigrating to Chicago.

Fifth Grade Crews performed on stage what they created with the Black Ensemble Theatre.  They also presented their research and Call to Action to maintain the health of our river and keep basements free from flooding.

Sixth Grade Crews presented their research and Call to Action to maintain the health of our river and keep basements free from flooding.  They also presented what they have learned through an Activist Expo.

Seventh Grade Crews presented their research and Public Service Announcements they created around Microplastics in addition to sharing artwork and poetry around The American Dream.
