Students Show School Spirit & Polaris Pride on Homecoming Day

Polaris Pride–12th Annual Homecoming

Every fall the Polaris community comes together to demonstrate our tremendously strong school pride. Students and staff proudly wear Polaris colors–orange and blue–and dress in crazy outfits to show off their school spirit. Every Crew decorates their classroom door to show off their Polaris pride, and the Polaris Polar Bear roars with every Crew. Our 8th grade leaders organize the block party tailgate with games, face painting, and play for all. The 7th and 8th grade Crews perform original cheers in a half-time cheer-off competition during Community Crew. In the spirit of coming home, several Polaris alumni join the celebration. Davonte (Polaris Class of 2017, now attending Chicago Bulls Academy) said: “I came back today because I miss it–Everything–the people, how we learn. Polaris is a loving place to be. When I walk into Polaris, it feels like home. It is my home and I can be myself.”
